Small bronze statuettes of favorite Roman gods and goddesses Jupiter, Minerva, Mercury, Priapus ... (on this picture), perfectly proportioned and of an exquisite artistic production are exhibited, among others, in the Archaeological Museum of Iron Gate/Đerdap in Kladovo. They represent genuine masterpieces of the Roman imperial era, and are among the most beautiful works of Roman classicism, in miniature form. This group of Roman gods of the Roman limes from this sector of the Danube: Jupiter, the god of weather and storms; Juno, the goddess of marriage and women; Minerva, the goddess of arts and crafts, war and the war wisdom; Mercury, the god of wealth and trade, protector of the borders and the carrier of the divine message; Diana, always shown with a bow and arrows, as the goddess of the hunt, protector of wildlife and pristine, untouched nature; her brother Apollo, the god of the sun light, beauty, music; Victoria, the goddess of battle and victory; Venus, the goddess of love and sailing; Neptune, the ruler of all waters of the world, he was the protector of ship-owners and ship traffic; Priapus, the god of gardens, fields and fertility; Hercules, wearing lion's skin, he was the protector of travelling and the venture that are connected with difficulties - hard work in the construction industry, in mines, quarries, ... these are the main deities of the Roman Pantheon, a very popular and accepted among the variety of Roman population here and throughout the vast empire.
